FATSSSA'S PRESS ORGANISES PRIZE-GIVING DAY FOR ITS INAUGURAL ESSAY COMPETITION, AWARDS LECTURERS PLAQUES

   by Peace Nke nta On January 17, 2025, FATSSSA Press Organised the prize giving day for its inaugural essay competition. The program which took place in the Faculty of the Social Sciences LLT, began at 2:25 p.m. It started with the rendition of the National and University anthems, followed by the acknowledgment of the presence of the Guest of Honour, which comprised the Dean of the faculty ,Professor Eh i g i e Benjamin; Professor Remi Aiyede; Dr. Busari, the press staff adviser; Dr. Idowu Johnson, and Dr. Orisayomi .       The Dean was requested to deliver the Opening Speech, during which he expressed gratitude to all attendees of the event and praised the team responsible for the success of the inaugural essay competition, a unique event in its own right.       Following that, Mr. Emmanuel Akinwale, the Editor-in-Chief of the Faculty's press, took the stage to deliver his speech, highlighting the processes and people that contributed to the ...

FATSSSA election: IFEC Releases Result, Animashaun Boluwatife, Others Emerges Unopposedd

:  by Fatai Khadijat The Independent FATSSSA electoral commission announced the result of the just concluded FATSSSA executive election which was held on January 16th 2025, with a total vote cast of 381 out of 670 registered voters. In the official release by IFEC, Boluwaatife Animashaun emerges as the president elect with a total vote of 358 and 23 indecisive votes. Olajide Precious emerges as the Vice president elect with a total vote of 353 and 28 indecisive votes. Abdulakeem Faidat emerges as the General Secretary elect with a total vote of 360 and 21 indecisive votes. Taofeek Rasheed emerges as the financial secretary elect with a total vote of 281 and 100 indecisive votes. Ushie Stephen emerges as the Public Relation Officer elect with a total vote  352 and 29 indecisive votes. This leads us to ponder the intentions of our leaders: are they pursuing the title and position, or the responsibility associated with it? Although anyone can dream of attaining a role, not everyone is ready to bear the associated responsibility.
