Bhagemede  The speakers who represented FATSSSA at the 12th Reckoning: JAW WAR took the stage at exactly 9:31pm and argued for the topic: Should employers consider applicants social media history in hiring decisions? Ayodele Oyinkansola polularly known as Emunah in The Social Sciences highlighted her points as the first speaker. Her speech included examples on three stakeholders that determine why employers use social media in hiring decisions. She advised the audience to post about this project saying, “We are not just posting but building opportunities”.  The first speaker of the Faculty of Dentistry tried to belittle The Social Sciences by saying the answer to the question lies in our lecture halls and yet we've missed it. He made reference to Harvard Business School which asserts that social media was never meant to help in hiring decisions.   Bhagemede The Independent FATSSSA Electoral Commission (IFEC)’26 on Tuesday, 1st of September 2026 sent out a special release informing members of Association on the commencement of sales of forms for the Faculty election. The sales of forms is expected to span from September 1 till September 14, the Presidential and Vice Presidential Forms were set at Five Thousand Naira, Other Executive Positions at Four Thousand Naira and FHR positions at Three Thousand Naira. Aspirants were advised to purchase forms before the deadline. The Electoral Commission further highlighted the criteria for all aspirants explaining that they must be students of the Association, registered for the current academic session, must be a financial member of the Association for the 2025/2026 academic session, must publicly resign 24 hours to the screening exercise if holding any position at the departmental level or in a Hall of Residence or such persons would not be allowed to contest.   By Joseph Etsevi  The Independent FATSSSA Electoral Commission (IFEC) on Monday, August 31, 2026, has officially notified the Association on the lift of ban on electoral activities, opening the way for aspirants to begin public campaigns ahead of the 2026 FATSSSA elections. The lifting of the ban was initially deliberated on and allowed to go through during the FHR's Fifth Legislative Sitting on Friday, August 28, 2026, where aspirants seeking elective positions can now take their campaigns to the public, engage voters and canvass for support ahead of the polls. However, the electoral commission has warned against indiscriminate placement of campaign flyers and materials, particularly on walls and notice boards around the Faculty building. According to IFEC statement, aspirants are “restricted from posting campaign flyers on walls and notice boards without proper authorization.”  This warning comes as campaign activities are expected to intensify across the Faculty....
