IFEC Lifts Ban on Electoral Activities; Aspirants Allowed to Begin Campaign Activities
By Joseph Etsevi The Independent FATSSSA Electoral Commission (IFEC) on Monday, August 31, 2026, has officially notified the Association on the lift of ban on electoral activities, opening the way for aspirants to begin public campaigns ahead of the 2026 FATSSSA elections. The lifting of the ban was initially deliberated on and allowed to go through during the FHR's Fifth Legislative Sitting on Friday, August 28, 2026, where aspirants seeking elective positions can now take their campaigns to the public, engage voters and canvass for support ahead of the polls. However, the electoral commission has warned against indiscriminate placement of campaign flyers and materials, particularly on walls and notice boards around the Faculty building.
