FATSSSA ELECTION RESULTS’ 25

  Peace Nkenta On Friday, the 21st of November, 2025, the Faculty of The Social Sciences Students’ Association (FATSSSA) held its 2024/2025 election to usher in new executives for the session ahead. Students from different departments of the Faculty contested for various positions.  The election which was an online exercise began at 9 a.m and ended at 4 p.m. A total of 318 votes out of 642 eligible voters was recorded after the election. The following aspirants emerged successful; Peter Sunday Adegoke (Patriot) who ran for the position of the Faculty's President clinched a total of 265 votes, Ayodele Oyinkansola Faith (Emunah) who ran for the position of the General Secretary had a total of 129 votes, Ejike Precious Mmesomma (Sommachi) who ran for the position of the Public Relations Officer had a total of 279 votes and Adeyemi Israel Edward (Dr Yes) who ran for the position of the Assistant General Secretary had a total of 242 votes. 

MANIFESTO MATTERS: IFEC RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT RAISED BY A FATSSSAITE

  At exactly 7:28 a.m. this morning, the Independent Fatsssa Electoral Commission released a memo addressing the public address raised by one of FATSSSA stakeholders, Mr Samson, Sociology president. In his release, he described the situation as a democratic process being marred by procedural irregularity and open disrespect. According to him, he followed the ground rules of first-come, first-served. There was a limited time, which led to constraints in the number of questions that could be accommodated for each aspirant, and only the first five people to raise their hands could ask a question. Mr Samson stated that during the presidential aspirant questioning, he was among the first five but was not given the chance due to the fact that he had asked questions during the presentation of other aspirants. Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association, UI Announces The Adedeji Scholarship Program for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

  By Faith Ajewole  On Monday, 17th of November, 2025, The Faculty of the Social Sciences Students Association (FATSSSA), University of Ibadan, announced the commencement of applications for the Adedeji Scholarship Program, a new initiative aimed at supporting students who have demonstrated outstanding results academically, and who also double to be exceptional in other fields like music, theatre arts, entrepreneurship and several more extra curricular activities. Targeted specifically at 200-level students, the scholarship offers full tuition and accommodation support for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to the announcement, the program is designed to ease financial burdens and enable committed students to focus fully on their academic pursuits and long-term goals. One of the major requirements for students who can apply for the scholarship is a minimum of 3.0/4.0 CGPA.
