ASUU SUSPENDS ITS TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE

News Peace Nkenta In a Press release today, Wednesday 22nd of October 2025, The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) suspended its two week warning strike which was initiated as a result of the Federal Government’s inability to meet the demands of the Union. This strike began on Monday, 13th of October and was to be called off on the 27th of October, 2025 prior to the positive response of the Federal Government during this time frame. The President of the Union, Chris Piwuna stated in an ongoing press briefing in Abuja that the decision to suspend the strike originated from the meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) which was held overnight and ended at 4:00 a.m this morning. This occured as a result of quite a number of fruitful engagements by the Federal Government on the demands of the Union.
