FATSSSA Press Emerges Victorious in Professor FE. Egbokhare Inter-Press Debate Competition (Faculty LPO category)

  By Habeeb Lanlehin  In a battle of wit, persuasion, and eloquence, FATSSSA Press emerged triumphant in the prestigious Professor FE. The Egbokhare Inter-Press Debate Competition was held today during the Union of Campus Journalists, UI 35 th induction ceremony. The competition, known for its rigorous intellectual exchanges using the Australasian debate style finally produced a winner after three preliminary rounds.  The journey to victory was no easy feat for the three participants representing FATSSSA Press. Olatoye Temiloluwa, Akinwale Ayomide, and Omolola Grace showcased their prowess by engaging in spirited debates against tough opponents from AFAS Press, Law Press, and Clinical Sciences Press. Each round tested their persuasion abilities, critical thinking, and communication skills. At this symposium, guest speakers engaged in discussions that delved into the dual nature of AI, examining its potential benefits and drawbacks across different sectors. Notably, Dr. Osayomi, a lecturer from the Department of Geography, contributed to the discourse by shedding light on the level of inaccuracy inherent in AI technologies. Dr. Osayomi emphasized the importance of utilizing AI as an assistant rather than solely relying on its capabilities, advocating for a balanced approach that harnesses AI's strengths while recognizing its limitations.
