Dr. Adeniyi led the session on financial literacy, highlighting the importance of financial education for students. He emphasized the detrimental impact of heading into exams without financial stability and discussed the broad scope of financial literacy, including common investment options. During his presentation, Dr. Adeniyi focused on accessible investment avenues for students, such as stocks and bonds, stressing the significance of financial discipline in investment endeavors. “Let Love Blossom" Program Enlightens FATSSSAITES on Drug Abuse and Stress Management

  On February 14th, while the world celebrated Valentine’s Day, the Faculty of The Social Sciences Student Help Centre, in collaboration with the Faculty of The Social Sciences Students’ Association, organized an enlightening program titled "Let Love Blossom." Held at the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT) of the faculty, the event attracted eminent guests and students from various faculties. Dr. Opeyemi Fashanu, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology, University of Ibadan, delivered a compelling speech on "Drug Abuse and Stress Management." He debunked misconceptions and delved into the causes and consequences of drug and substance abuse, emphasizing that substances like alcohol, marijuana, Indian hemp, and cough syrup are psychoactive and can alter users' behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. FATSSSA L&D makes history in the Quarter-Finals

  By Glorious Olajire FATSSSA has advanced to the semi-finals in the Inter-faculty Jaw War Debate after winning the quarter-finals against the Faculty of Dentistry. This victory marked the first of its kind in four years, as stated by the L&D president, Olagboyega Stephen Praise. The debate took place on February 8th, 2024, at the Faculty's large lecture theatre. FATSSSA L&D argued against the topic: "Foreign Aid: Enabling Sufficiency or Perpetuating Dependency in African Nations." The speakers for FATSSSA were Adedokun Oluwafisayo and Akande Omobobola James. Adedokun Oluwafisayo was awarded the overall best speaker for the day, while the team achieved the highest score of the day in the first round, with 85% from the social sciences and 80% from dentistry.
