UI OFFICIALLY RELEASES ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2025/26 SESSION

By Ayoolajesu Victoria Ojo Following the conclusion of its admission processes, the University of Ibadan (UI) has released the official academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The calendar was circulated across various official platforms on January 26th, 2026. According to the calendar, the first semester commenced on January 19th and is scheduled to run until June 26th. Activities lined up for the semester include the virtual orientation and lectures alongside the matriculation ceremony for the Freshmen and other statutory academic engagements. The second semester, on the other hand, is slated to begin on July 13th and end on December 30th, 2026. The extended academic schedule suggests a tightly structured session with limited room for non-academic activities. FATSSSA PRESS HOLDS HANDOVER CEREMONY

  By Faith Ajewole They say the end of a thing is more beautiful than its beginning, and this was evident as the FATSSSA Press Organisation held its virtual handover ceremony on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 8:30 p.m.  The meeting commenced with the Press prayer, followed by the the National Anthem. Thereafter, the outgoing Editor-in-Chief, Miss Adeusi Victoria, delivered an appreciation address, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to all members and stakeholders who played pivotal roles in the success of the just-concluded administration. Her appreciation extended down to every member. She went further, emphasizing the need for unity and synchronization between the Local Press Organisations, within the faculty of The Social sciences.
