UI OFFICIALLY RELEASES ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2025/26 SESSION

By Ayoolajesu Victoria Ojo

Following the conclusion of its admission processes, the University of Ibadan (UI) has released the official academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The calendar was circulated across various official platforms on January 26th, 2026.

According to the calendar, the first semester commenced on January 19th and is scheduled to run until June 26th. Activities lined up for the semester include the virtual orientation and lectures alongside the matriculation ceremony for the Freshmen and other statutory academic engagements.

The second semester, on the other hand, is slated to begin on July 13th and end on December 30th, 2026. The extended academic schedule suggests a tightly structured session with limited room for non-academic activities.

As virtual lectures have already commenced and preparations for full academic engagement are underway, the Faculty of The Social Sciences Students’ Association (FATSSSA) Press wishes all students and staff a smooth and productive academic session.
