THE FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES DECLARES LECTURE FREE DAYS

  Peace Nkenta The Dean of the Faculty of The Social Sciences, Prof Benjamin O. Ehigie circulated an internal memorandum on Saturday, 14th of June 2025. Contained in the memo, was a notification to all Heads of Departments in the Faculty to declare three lecture free days which is to begin from Monday, 16th of June to Wednesday, 18th of June. The purpose of this, is to avail students of the Faculty the opportunity to attend the 2nd Annual Ibadan International Social Sciences Conference (AIISSC). This is a program organized by the Faculty which will hold at 9 a.m during the lecture free days. He stated that this notification be treated importantly.

UI'SU RAISES ALARM OVER THE RISE OF SCAMMING AMONGST STUDENT POPULACE

  Peace Nkenta The University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI'SU) on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 released a memo advising the general student community to take precaution as a result of the rise in fraudulent activities.  In the memo was stated how several credible reports of individuals impersonating as student entrepreneurs, university staff and house agents under the pretense of offering assistance to clear extra years, secure accommodations, offer products and services, demanding payment in return for services they cannot and do not intend to provide had been reported.  The Executive Council warned students not to fall prey of these acts, assuring the student community that the Union and the University management would never solicit money from them and that university processes follow official procedures and should be verified through the appropriate channels.  The Council highlighted its recent development on the issue which is a collaboration with the University Secur...
