  By Faith Ajewole  Some minutes after 8pm, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the FATSSSA Executive Council released an official memo in response to the impeachment of the Faculty President, Peter Adegoke, and the suspension of four other executive members by the Faculty House of Representatives. The statement, titled “RESTORING CONFIDENCE TO FATSSSAITES; THE PRESIDENT STILL REMAINS IN OFFICE AND THERE SHALL BE NO SUSPENSION OF ANY OF THE EXECUTIVE MEMBERS,” rejected the impeachment and suspension verdicts, while outlining reasons the council believes the decisions should not stand.     Peace Nkenta As at 2:25p.m on Friday, the 15th of May 2026, Peter Adegoke, President of the Faculty of The Social Sciences was impeached with a total of 14 out of 16 votes which represented more than two-thirds of the House and four other members of the executive council (which included the Vice President, the Social Director, the Sports Director and the Financial Secretary) were suspended for two weeks with a total of 9 out of 16 votes during the ordinary sitting held at the Small Lecture Theater (SLT).  This development stemmed from the several altercations between the FHR and the Executive Council.
