9th WEEK, THE NIGHTS WEEK!

Into the ninth and further into the night

Into the ninth and longer into the night

Into the ninth and louder the call of the night


Just one ninth and the looming nights

Just one ninth, an intensity of the ongoing fights

Just one ninth, an assembly of the night knights


The closer this ninth got

The more it dawned into a needed night

In the hope that those decimals take to flight


Make hay while the sun shines?

No, we’ll wait for a night bright

Eyes wide, ITEMS supplies, KDL tight


A ninth adorned with deadlines

Many nights to tackle their silent cries 

And there’s me, trying to make more headlines


Because irrespective of the subtle frights

Some of u go write

We know that las las, everybody go dey alright.

FATSSSA'S PRESIDENT IMPEACHED, FOUR OTHER EXECUTIVE MEMBERS SUSPENDED

    Peace Nkenta As at 2:25p.m on Friday, the 15th of May 2026, Peter Adegoke, President of the Faculty of The Social Sciences was impeached with a total of 14 out of 16 votes which represented more than two-thirds of the House and four other members of the executive council (which included the Vice President, the Social Director, the Sports Director and the Financial Secretary) were suspended for two weeks with a total of 9 out of 16 votes during the ordinary sitting held at the Small Lecture Theater (SLT).  This development stemmed from the several altercations between the FHR and the Executive Council. UI SUSPENDS TWO STUDENTS WITH SDC CASES, THIRD STUDENT'S CASE REMAINS UNRESOLVED

Peace Nkenta ‎On Monday, 14th of July, two students, Aduwo Ayodele, a final year student of the History Department, and Gbadegesin Olamide, a final year Master’s student at the Institute of African Studies, received a four-semester suspension. ‎This decision was taken during the Central Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC) sitting held earlier today involving the Vice Chancellor amongst other members of the University management. The reason for the suspension is that both students participated in the peaceful protest that took place during the Erstwhile Students’ Union President (Aweda Bolaji)'s administration. ‎Aduwo Ayodele confirmed this development. In his words ‎“Yes, we have been suspended for four semesters without committing any crime other than protesting against the hike in school fees”. ‎This development follows after the students had earlier appeared before the SDC panel twice.
