OPINION: CORRUPTION AND ANTI-GRAFT WAR IN NIGERIA

Image
By John Bukunmi Corruption is difficult to define. In other words, it is an elusive and ambiguous phenomenon whose household and universal characteristics make it difficult to define. However, a comprehensive definition should address the "who, what, when, where, and how of corruption."       One of the critical challenges facing the entire globe is the menace of corruption. Its prevalence is spare policy in both developed and developing countries, although the level of magnitude varies.       Corruption is a malaise not only for one country but for other countries alike . It is a vice that undermines cross-cultural, cross-temporal and cross-national boundaries.       Nigeria is a country blessed with abundant human and material resources that was predicted after a decade of independence to be one of the world's most powerful and largest economies.       In fact, it is one of the countries in the world endowed w...

ON HERITAGE PARK: "There is Little the Union Could do..."- UISU President

Image
by Emmanuel Akinwale On Saturday, 23rd November, 2024, FATSSSA Press correspondent, met with the SU President at the Faculty of the Social Sciences at 12:32 pm regarding the decimation of Heritage Park. In his words, he stated that plans to decimate Heritage Park have been ongoing for a while in order to construct a new senate building. He stated further that, just like other Universities in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan wants to situate the senate building at the center of the University.  To further the cause, he stated, it would have implied the demolition of the Tekena Tamuno Building and Trenchard Hall but the demolition of the Heritage Park appears to be the safer option. Asking about why the Union failed to release a resolution, Aweda stated that, there was little the Union could do at that point as the plans to decimate Heritage Park have been long-standing. He however expressed disappointment that such an act was carried out in the middle of the night.

You must remember two things when setting out your plans, i ) you are human. i i) you have just 24 hours in a day.
