  FATSSSA WEEK 2021 IS NEXT WEEK!! by IBUKUN KENYAMO Starting on Monday 11th of October, The Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association (FATSSSA) will be hosting this year’s edition of their annual ‘Week’. The six-day-long event will feature different activities on each day, starting with an Entrepreneurship Summit on Monday, and ending with the Cultural Night on Saturday.  “I am so excited about all the activities,” said FATSSSA President, Josiah Obong Josiah, “Especially days 4, 5, and 6. Day 6 is the Cultural Night, Day 4 is the Creativity Fest and it will include rap battles, karaoke, live paintings, and so much more, and we have a conference on Day 5”. FATSSSA TAKES THE BIG CHUNKS OF THE CAKE by Nnagboro Chinenye Vivian On the 25th of September 2021, the Student’s Union of the University of Ibadan, UI,  organized its annual pageantry and awards show. The event which took place at the NFLT of the faculty of science also featured displays, comedy, music, dance, drama and lots of other activities.  The high point of the events for all FATSSSAites was when out of 19 awards, 3 were won by students of the faculty. The awards won were; Freshman of the year, Departmental President of the year and Performing artiste of the year.   The press was able to get in touch with them to get their opinion on how it felt to win the awards.  ON OAU'S  SHUTDOWN: QUICK FACTS by Ameze Damilola Adesina Aishat, a final year student of the department of Foreign Languages of Obafemi Awolowo University passed away at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Ile - Ife. News gathered reports that late Miss Adesina who was an asthmatic patient was rushed to the University Health Clinic on Thursday, 30th of September, 2021.  It was reported that she was experiencing severe pains following intake of drugs given to her at the Health Clinic for treatment of sore throat she was experiencing. On getting to the Clinic, she was refused referral to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital as the doctors claimed to be on strike. She was referred to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Ile Ife where she passed away as a result of late response.
