Council of Hall Chairpersons' proposal for an Increment in Hall Dues.

  By Peace Nkenta    The COHC on the 30th of March 2025 wrote to the UI-SRC proposing an increment in Basic Dues across Halls of Residence from N3000 to N5000. The Hall Chairpersons asserted that the reason for the proposition of an increment was as a result of the insufficiency of the current fee to meet essential expenses such as security, sanitation, infrastructure, hall services which have gained rising costs overtime and inadequately made it impossible to meet the general welfare of the student populace.    According to the notification released and signed by the President of the COHC, Anifowose Nofisat and the General Secretary, Adenekan Adeifeoluwa. UI-SRC DISQUALIFIED MEMBER DEMANDING RE-INSTATEMENT BY COURT INTERVENTION GETS DENIED

  Peace Nkenta  On the 28th of March 2025, Nice Linus Adaoma, a 300 level student of the Faculty of Law dispatched the virtual copy of a letter to the 12th Assembly of the Students’ Representative Council demanding for her temporary restitution as a member and majority leader elect of the Obafemi Awolowo Hall constituency. This event followed after the University annulled her election into office. This was because of the internal memorandum highlighting the alleged case she had with the Students’ Disciplinary Committee where she fought against the fee hike introduced in the last session alongside two others.
