SPECIAL RELEASE FROM IFEC’26 ON THE REQUIREMENTS FROM ASPIRANTS AHEAD OF ELECTIONS AND ON COMMENCEMENT ON THE SALES OF FORMS

The Independent FATSSSA Electoral Commission (IFEC)’26 on Tuesday, 1st of September 2026 sent out a special release informing members of Association on the commencement of sales of forms for the Faculty election. The sales of forms is expected to span from September 1 till September 14, the Presidential and Vice Presidential Forms were set at Five Thousand Naira, Other Executive Positions at Four Thousand Naira and FHR positions at Three Thousand Naira. Aspirants were advised to purchase forms before the deadline.
The Electoral Commission further highlighted the criteria for all aspirants explaining that they must be students of the Association, registered for the current academic session, must be a financial member of the Association for the 2025/2026 academic session, must publicly resign 24 hours to the screening exercise if holding any position at the departmental level or in a Hall of Residence or such persons would not be allowed to contest. Aspirants must also have at least a 2.0 of 4.0 grade point and must importantly be of impeccable character.
Other requirements needed from the various aspirants ahead of the elections include; Fatsssa Dues Receipt, School Fees Receipt, Course Form, Last Academic Transcript ( if not available, a letter from the course adviser stating the current gpa), Letter of Recommendation from a Lecturer (General Secretary aspirants are required to have Two Letters of Recommendation), and Letters from Two Reputable Fatsssaites in 300 or 400 level.
As stated in the release, all of the above should be of the current academic session.
