The speakers who represented FATSSSA at the 12th Reckoning: JAW WAR took the stage at exactly 9:31pm and argued for the topic: Should employers consider applicants social media history in hiring decisions?
Ayodele Oyinkansola polularly known as Emunah in The Social Sciences highlighted her points as the first speaker. Her speech included examples on three stakeholders that determine why employers use social media in hiring decisions.
She advised the audience to post about this project saying, “We are not just posting but building opportunities”.
The first speaker of the Faculty of Dentistry tried to belittle The Social Sciences by saying the answer to the question lies in our lecture halls and yet we've missed it. He made reference to Harvard Business School which asserts that social media was never meant to help in hiring decisions. He further made use of departments in Fatsssa to butress his points.
The second speaker of The Social Sciences, Adeyemi Shalom Oluwafikayo made sure to counter the attacks of her opponents by saying “ The voice of wisdom is here”. She made reference to the Targeted Natural Language Process (2021). She was bold, confident and expressive.
The second speaker of the Faculty of Dentistry thereafter took the stage, elaborating on the points her colleague had given.
In the end, the only Faculty with the article “The” scored a total of 78.88 points while the Faculty of Dentistry had a total score of 74.8.
Indeed Shalom’s closing statement came to pass; Social Sciences win against Dentistry.
