By Usman Toheeb

FATSSSA PRESS: Good evening, my name is Usman Toheeb. I'm a representative from FATSSSA Press, and I would like to interview you concerning your intention to run for the forthcoming election.

Muizat: Good evening, Sir. My name is Busari Muizat Ayomide.

FATSSSA PRESS: Kindly introduce yourself.

Muizat: I'm a 100-level student in the Psychology Department of this faculty.

FATSSSA PRESS: There are rumors that you intend to aspire to a particular office. Is that true?

Muizat: Yes, Sir. I'm running for the position of Faculty Assistant General Secretary.

FATSSSA PRESS: What are your visions for the faculty if elected as the Assistant General Secretary?

Muizat: My vision, if elected as the Assistant General Secretary of our great association, is to ensure an inclusive and well-run association where the needs of the greatest FATSSSITES are met, and the honor of the faculty is upheld.

FATSSSA PRESS: When you say "needs of FATSSSITES are met," what exactly do you mean?

Muizat: For every association with leaders, there are certain things the members expect to get from them. So when I say "needs of FATSSSITES," I mean I will play my part in ensuring the association is run in a way where FATSSSITES have the conducive environment they need.

FATSSSA PRESS: Everyone has one or two things that inspire them to run for an office. What are yours?

Muizat: I'm someone who loves to serve wherever I am. I believe it is important to contribute my part to the good of an association. While everybody contributes in their own way, I am convinced I have what it takes to take up this position and maximize it to meet the needs of FATSSSITES.

FATSSSA PRESS: Talking about what inspired you, you haven't really addressed that part. What specifically inspired you?

Muizat: Okay. I am inspired by the way the current AGS of FATSSSA, Opeseitan Elijah, has shown maximum support for the freshers and exemplified what a leader should be like.

FATSSSA PRESS: What are your plans for the faculty if elected?

Muizat: If elected as the Assistant General Secretary, I am willing to diligently carry out the duties assigned to me. I am also committed to working hand in hand with other executives to elevate our already great faculty to an even better level. Additionally, I plan to promote an inclusive and effective community where the mental health of every FATSSSITE is taken into consideration. I am also willing to assist the Vice President in organizing tutorials for freshers to encourage optimum attendance. Furthermore, I aim to aid the Vice President in the mentorship program, ensuring each student has access to mentors who can help them with academic and other challenges they might face.

FATSSSA PRESS: You mentioned the current AGS. Apart from what he has done, do you have any new innovations?

Muizat: I'd like to introduce a peer-to-peer mentorship program to the faculty.

FATSSSA PRESS: "Peer-to-peer." Social Sciences is known for simplicity. Can you break it down?

Muizat: This program pairs a fresher with a stalite. The stalite supports the fresher in every possible aspect, whether academic, emotional, or any other area where the fresher might need help.

FATSSSA PRESS: The current AGS implemented this for your level, right?

Muizat: No, this only exists at the departmental level.

FATSSSA PRESS: Thank you for your time.

Muizat: Thank you too!
