SECOND LEG OF JAWWAR INTER FACULTY DEBATE: FACULTY OF EDUCATION VS FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES

The second leg of the Inter-Faculty Debate between the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of The Social Sciences commenced at 8:20 p.m., with both faculties debating the topic: “Western Literature About Africa: A True Reflection of Africa’s Identity?” The speakers representing the Faculty of The Social Sciences argued against the motion, while the Faculty of Education argued in support.

Throughout the debate, speakers from both faculties presented various arguments and narratives to buttress their respective positions on the topic. Both sides demonstrated their understanding of the subject matter while highlighting different perspectives on the representation of Africa in Western literature.

At the end of the round, the Faculty of The Social Sciences recorded a total of 73.25 points, while the Faculty of Education scored 76.6 points emerging victorious and advancing to the next level of the Inter-Faculty Debate rounds.

Regardless of the outcome, the speakers who represented FATSSSA were warmly congratulated and acknowledged by Fatsssaites in attendance for their efforts and representation of the Faculty.
