FHR HOLDS INAUGURAL SITTING FOR 2025/26 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Fatsssa House of Representatives (FHR) on Friday, March 27, 2026 in the Small Lecture Theater (SLT) held its inaugural sitting for the 2025/26 academic session. The sitting which began at exactly 12:19p.m started with the inauguration of honorable members for the 2025/26 academic session. 

This was followed by the election of principal officers. An in-house election was conducted to this effect and the following honorable members were elected; Hon Mic-Gideon as the Chief Whip, Hon Grace Iyanu as the Deputy Clerk, Hon Temi as the Clerk, Hon Lawal Matrix as the Deputy Speaker and Rt. Hon Oduola Peter who was re-elected to serve as the Speaker of the House. Afterwards, the Returning Officer of the Independent Fatsssa Electoral Commission (IFEC) was appointed, in person of Ms. Aina, a 400 level student of the department of Geography. 

The next agenda for the sitting featured the conducting of bye-elections for aspirants vying for the different vacant executive positions in the Faculty. At the end of it, the following persons were elected; Mr Matthew Itodo (Financial Secretary), Mr Obinna Kingsley (Sports Director), Mr Adeoye Kolade (Social Director) and Mr Triumph Israel (Vice President). 

Other matters addressed during the sitting included, the presentation of budgets for the Freshers’ Orientation and Dean's Roll of Honor of the 2025/26 academic session, Awards for academic members of the 2024/25 academic session, Movie and Karaoke Night for freshers of the 2025/26 academic session. The sitting was adjourned at 5:06p.m.
