UCJ SET TO HOLD GCJS 2.0: A 5-IN-1 EVENT

The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ, UI) is set to hold its second edition of Global Campus Journalism Summit (GCJS) featuring; The Professor Francis Egbokhare Inter-Press Debating Competition, The Sunday Oguntola Essay Competition, The Famous Five Awards (FFA), The Magazine Launch, and The Annual Induction Ceremony. This 5-in-1 event is to take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. in the First Bank Building, Faculty of Agriculture. 


The Summit is an event designed to convene Campus Journalists, Educators, Media Professionals and Industry Leaders from across the world for meaningful engagement, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. It promises to be an insightful and impactful event featuring keynote speeches, in-depth panel sessions, discussions and networking opportunities. 


The theme of the Summit is “From Campus to Newsroom: Sustaining Truth, Freedom and Innovation in the Age of AI”. Preceding this is the Induction week running from October 6th to 9th, 2025 which culminates into the Grand Finale - October 11, 2025.
