FATSSSA DEAN'S CUP: THE GAME IS FAR FROM OVER

By Usman Toheeb.

The much-anticipated Dean’s Cup officially kicked off on Tuesday, 7th, October 2025, marking the beginning of another exciting football season in the Faculty of the Social Sciences (FATSSSA), a faculty well-known for its vibrant extracurricular engagements.

Football, one of the key activities that foster unity and inclusion among students, took center stage as the Department of Political Science locked horns with its Sociology counterparts in the opening fixture.

The encounter, which commenced at exactly 2:55 p.m. and lasted until 4:00 p.m., was filled with intensity, passion, and tactical displays from both sides. In the end, Sociology emerged victorious with a 2–1 win over Political Science. Kay and Tumi found the back of the net for Sociology, while Oba scored the lone goal for Political Science.

With this result, Sociology sets the pace in the early stage of the competition, while Political Science will be looking to bounce back stronger in today's fixture. The Dean’s Cup promises to deliver more electrifying moments as the tournament unfolds.

The second round of the match was between the Psychology department and the Geography department. The Psychology department had a walkover win as they emerged as the winner of the round with a score of 3-0 over Geography.

The match continues today with another scheduling, Geography against Political Science, and Psychology against Sociology.
