REASON BEHIND THE ADJOURNMENT OF THE SITTING

The third legislative sitting of the Faculty of the Social Sciences Students’ Association (FATSSSA), University of Ibadan, which was initially scheduled to hold physically on Thursday July 4, 2025, was postponed and rescheduled to hold virtually on Sunday july 6, 2025.

The sitting, which was held online via Google meet platform, supposed to be officially commenced at exactly 6:00 p.m. Mr. Speaker began the session by requesting a show of hands to confirm the attendance of honourable members and principal officers.

However, it was soon observed that not all members were present, prompting concern from the Speaker. Despite waiting for additional members to join, the number of honourable in attendance couldn’t form a quorum. Hence, by 6:50 p.m the Speaker announced the adjournment and cancellation of the sitting.

He further stated that all honourable members and principal officers who failed to attend the sitting without prior notice would be fined a sum of ₦2,000.
