On the 21st of December, 2024, the Faculty of the Social Sciences held the Cultural Day event of the Faculty Week themed “The Echoes of Tradition” which took place at the car park of the Faculty in the University of Ibadan.
This Cultural party hosted by the Faculty’s Students Association (FATSSSA) was organized for all the students in the various departments within the Faculty to celebrate the beauty of culture and heritage.
The cultural event began in the evening as students in regal native attires started trooping in their numbers to the Faculty Car park where the event was set to be held.
The Master of Ceremony coordinated the event and before long, the celebratory spirit in the audience was ignited.
Afterward, the DJ engaged the crowd as different music genres rented the air. The Fuji Session significantly elevated the audience's spirits as they swayed to the melody pulse of the Fuji music.
Igbo traditional music was also played for the enjoyment of those present. The MC took to the stage to declare it was time for some refreshments, encouraging the audience to pause their dancing and replenish their energy as the celebration was about to get more interesting.
A new round of dancing commenced as popular hip-hop tracks were played, stirring their excitement even further.
An hour later, while the dance session continued, each group was called up to participate in the dancing. The students in their final year also participated in the celebration.
The cultural night ended a few minutes after 9:30 pm, and the attendees made their way to their homes. This event has marked the conclusion of the Faculty Week that began on December 16, 2024.
