As the prestigious public speaking competition in Sub-Saharan Africa, Jaw War approaches, anticipation builds ahead of the second semester of the 2023/24 academic session. Today, a draw was held, pairing faculties and halls of residence against each other.

The Faculty of Social Sciences, which finished as the first runner-up in the 2022/23 edition of Jaw War, is set to begin its campaign on November 28th, facing off against the Faculty of Science.

Speaking with FATSSSA Press correspondent, Bobola James, President of the Faculty of Social Sciences' Literary and Debating (L&D) Society, expressed confidence in their preparations. He highlighted that their training sessions have laid a solid foundation for this year’s competition, though he acknowledged the need to elevate their efforts to secure victory.

When asked if the Faculty of the Social Sciences L&D could win Jaw War, he confidently responded, “Since we have what it takes, why not?”

Other notable fixtures for the Faculty Category include Public Health vs. Clinical Sciences, Education vs. Agriculture, Economics vs. RNR, Law vs. Environmental Design, BMS vs. Arts, and Dentistry vs. Nursing.
