FATSSSAITES Unwind at “Nirvana: The Social Fiesta”
By Caleb Faniyan
Several weeks into the first semester, the executives of the Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association hosted a party tagged “Nirvana: The Social Fiesta” at the faculty car park on Saturday, 17th of December 2024. The party was aimed at bringing the students of the faculty together and helping them relieve the stress of the seemingly short yet intense semester.
The “free to enter” event slated to start at 4 pm did not kick off until about 6:30 pm, due to low attendance and a few logistics problems. However, by 7 pm, the party was in full swing, with the speakers blasting music and people shaking their bodies to the rhythm. Attendees were freely served with fruit punch and palm wine. Vendors selling food, chicken, and other party essentials were in abundance.
The party continued late into the night as FATSSSAITES wriggled their bodies to the DJ’s catalogue of various music genres. The event provided a much-needed break from the rigors of academic life, allowing everyone to relax and recharge. The Social director in his appreciation speech thanked everyone who graced the event, promising them another exciting event soon.
