UI Council of Faculty Presidents Endorses Students Union’s Resolution

To openly signify approval of the UI Students Union’s resolution, the Council of UI Faculty Presidents released a statement today, July 17th, 2024, to back up their commitment to the Student Union’s protest resolution 

 

In the public statement issued, the Council reiterated the motives of the Students Union which include; the reversal of the new electricity rationing policy and the complete reversal of the school fee hike. 

 

The Council stated that they have the opportune moment to be involved in this protest and will therefore take responsibility and act for us and future generations to come.”  

 

Furthermore, the Council encouraged students to be participants in the protest and to portray good conduct to ensure a peaceful protest while expressing their displeasure 

 

Faculty of the Social Sciences Students Association, in an earlier publication, declared their support of the students union’s tenacity and proceeded to conform with the Union’s directives by stating that no academic activities should be carried out in the faculty today.
