NEWS:FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES SET TO HOLD ITS 28th FACULTY INAUGURAL LECTURE

The Faculty of the Social Sciences is set to hold the Faculty’s 28th lecture titled ‘’ Let the Rivers Breathe: Healthy Rivers in a Messy World’ which will be delivered by Dr Olutoyin A. Fashe at 4:00pm on Tuesday, 16th of July, 2024 in the Large Lecture Theatre of the Faculty  

 

The lecturer delivering the speech is Dr. Olutoyin A. Fashe, from the Department of Geography in the Faculty of the Social Sciences, University of Ibadan.  

 

Through the Invitation of the Dean of The Faculty of the Social Sciences, this lecture is specified to be accessible to the general public to encourage the attendance of dignitaries, personnel and students within and beyond the Faculty of the Social Sciences in the University of Ibadan .

By Emmanuel Akinwale Gloria Popoola, a 400-level student of the Department of Political Science, has emerged as the first runner-up in the 2024 AESP ( African Economic Scholars Program ) National Policy Challenge sponsored by the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Leadership and Citizenship and Policy Innovation Centre. The African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) is an initiative designed to build the next generation of African policymakers by exposing scholars to innovative tools and training.  The National Policy Challenge sought to identify the best policy strategies for the Nigerian Federation in two areas: Gender equity and Climate change.
