By Caleb Faniyan

FATSSSA PRESS: Good day sir, I'm Caleb from FATSSSA press and I have a few questions regarding your aspirations for an executive position in the Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association. Can you briefly introduce yourself?

Mr. Tolani: Good evening, I am Omodara Tolani, popularly known as Cephas, I am a 400-level student in the sociology department. I'm vying for the office of faculty sports director.

FATSSSA PRESS: Can you briefly explain what spurred your decision to contest for the position of sports director?

Mr. Tolani: Sporting activities are always in 2 fold, the players/athletes part and the administrative part.  The love for the administrative part of sports fueled my decision.

FATSSSA PRESS: Why wait till now? I mean, you could have contested for this your beloved position during the elections last session. So, why wait till the bye-elections?

Mr. Tolani: [laughing emojis] I actually expect this question. To be sincere I won't be here if there's no vacancy.

To answer your question, there is time for everything under heavens, according to the good book so I have to be sure that I will be available. Then, I can't even though most people told me to go out do so, I am here because I want to do it not because I was told

FATSSSA PRESS: According to FATSSSA's constitution, what do you understand as the primary responsibilities of the Sports director, and do you think you have what it takes to fulfill them without defaulting?

Mr. Tolani: To make it brief, I'm the one in charge of all sporting activities in the faculty.

To the second question, from my 100level days, I have been practically involved in sports both at the departmental and faculty level, also, I once served in this same position in my department so I believe that I have the needed experience and ability to carry out my duty without fault, only God is the paragon of perfection so I am not saying that I'm perfect or the best

FATSSSA PRESS: What is your long-term vision for the student association and how do you plan to work towards achieving it during your tenure as the sports director, if elected?

Mr. Tolani: That will be to establish a legacy that other Sports directors after me would love to emulate and continue with it, for example , if elected as the sports director I will give voice to other sports since we have quite a number of fatsssaites  who are into those sports. To make sure that our Dean's cup is giving a new look

FATSSSA PRESS: What are the anticipated challenges attached to the office you are vying for, and how do you intend to overcome them?

Mr. Tolani: The challenge is availability of time, we all know that in this school, it's all about book and more book, nevertheless Fatsssaites do always support and represent our faculty well in sports and other sphere, As the curator of sporting activities in the faculty, I believe that we can take it further by incentivizing.

FATSSSA PRESS: This brings us to the end of this interview,  Enjoy your day.
