AFYMP Train stops in UI

Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals together with the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ_UI) held a one-day workshop on Saturday, November 4 2023 at Kola-daisi building, department of Computer Science, University of Ibadan.


Campus Journalists at the University of Ibadan enjoyed an in-depth discovery into reporting for impact. Facilitators included the executive director, Yinka Olaito and Multimedia Journalist, Damilola Fajimi.

Mr. Yinka Olaito, encouraged campus journalists to follow impactful journalists. “You can't go higher than what you follow. Read [the work of] people who you admire.”



Mrs Damilola Fajimi also put it to campus journalists to not allow preconceived barriers to hold them back but to keep writing and building themselves up.



Responding to the question on what changed for you, campus Journalist, Salaudeen RidwanMoradeyo from, HALQAH PRESS said” [this workshop]has given me a new look [at]chasing stories.”


A program like this was held at UNIBEN in October. This edition trained fifty (50) campus journalists at the University of Ibadan.
