Physical copies of the reviewed constitution, adopted in August 2023, were presented to the FATSSSA House of Representatives (FHR) on October 20, 2023. This presentation took place during the 4th ordinary sitting of the FHR at the Small Lecture Theatre in the Faculty of The Social Sciences.

In her address to the house, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Iyinola Oloyede, mentioned that the cost for the constitution would be 1,000 naira for FHR members and 1,500 naira for interested FATSSSAITES.

When questioned by FATSSSA Press about the delay in presenting the constitution, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Olajumoke Adekola explained that the constitutional review process was complex, and the review committee faced time constraints during the previous session. She mentioned, "By the time the committee was ready to present the outcome of the congress and the approval of the provisions of the constitution to be amended, the session had already come to an end."

She emphasized the tight time frame, adding that the approval of the recommendations by the constitutional review committee was held during the valedictory sitting of the last assembly. The document could not be edited as committee members were busy with exams, and the chairman was occupied with a project and clearance.

In addition, there were issues with contractors due to market price inflation. "The amount approved for the publication during the last assembly was really insufficient. None of the contractors we approached agreed to that price, and as you might expect, we're in Nigeria, where prices of things inflate every day."

Only twenty copies were printed, as approved by the last assembly, with the Dean, Sub-Dean, and Staff Adviser each receiving a copy.

Addressing Chapter 1, Article 5, section (iv) of the Amended Version of the Faculty of the Social Sciences Students’ Association’s Constitution, which stipulates that "All financial members shall be entitled to FATSSSA packages at a fee, which shall be provided by the EXCO and approved by a 2/3 majority of the House at its regular sitting. A copy of the FATSSSA constitution must be included in the package for fresh 100L, Direct entry, and transfer students." She added, "The agreement during the last assembly was that the constitution would be included in the package for the fresh 100L, Direct entry, and transfer students, who would need to contribute a small amount to their dues."

However, due to the late publication, "the plan is that by the next session, it'll be introduced, but that will be dependent on the resolution of the next assembly."

FATSSSAITES are encouraged to obtain their copies from the clerk of the house, Hon. Faiz Oyekanmi, for 1,500 naira.
