AN INTERVIEW WITH THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY OF FATSSSA UI

FATSSSA Press: Good evening, my name is Oluwadarasimi, a pressman from FATSSSA Press.
Well, first of all, could you please introduce yourself?

Fin.Sec: My name is Matthew Olabode Thomas, I am the Financial Secretary of The Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association. A 400L student of the Department of Geography.

FATSSSA Press: Could you briefly explain your role as the financial secretary of the faculty?

Fin.Sec: As the Financial Secretary of the Faculty's Students Association, It is my duty to keep up-to-date records of the association's financial transactions, issue receipts, submit financial reports to the president and house, as well as being a signatory to the withdrawal of funds.

FATSSSA Press: The amount to be paid for the dues has been sent out to FATSSAites. Could you please give a run-down of the dues to be paid?

Fin.Sec: Yes, The fees to be paid by all FATSSSAites have been released.
We have; Compulsory Basic Dues (N3000), Dinner (N3500), and Excursion (N5,000)

FATSSSA Press: In regards to this question, on the information broadcasted for payment, there is neither shirt nor sweater fee indicated there. Why is that so?

Fin.Sec: As we all know, No fees can be requested by the executive council without approval from the house. The executive council and the house have not yet discussed this topic so we cannot make any requests.

FATSSSA Press: About the payment portal link attached to the broadcast message, it is written there that if there are any questions, either you or the treasurer can be contacted for clarification. But for FATSSSAites to fully understand this process, would you please explain the concept of the portal and a walk-through on the payment process?

Fin.Sec: Definitely, The steps to make payments are;

Step 1: Click on the link provided in the broadcast message. 

This will take you to The Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association landing page, where you will be required to provide basic information (i.e. name, matric no etc.).
After this click 'Pay'

Step 2: You should be redirected to the payment portal page where you can fill in your bank card details to process your payment.

Step 3: After successful payment, kindly download your transaction receipt which will have all information on your transaction.

Note: If any FATSSSAite still needs help/guidance for this process, I will be more than ready to help. The secretariat is there and I am just a text or wave away.

THE FATSSSA WEEK EVENTS THROUGH THE EYES OF A NERDY FATSSSAITE

However, there had been loud hiccups with the crispy picnic, so many might have been hesitant to show up at the FATSSSA Week events. In preparation for the opening day of the events, the Large Lecture Theatre had been decorated. A large purple banner bearing the name of the faculty, with beautiful splashes of white and orange, was glued to the wall. The week started with an incredible intellectual programme - ‘Dean For  A Day’ and ‘FATSSSAites who inspire us’. I was determined to attend the programme as it was a new trend and I was curious to see how it would turn out. My mouth went agape as I saw FATSSSAites rush to the event.
