By: Oluwatomisin Adegbola

FATSSSA Press: Good evening. How are you doing?

Mr. Olamidipupo: I am doing very well, thank you

FATSSSA Press: Good.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the position you are vying for?

 Mr. Olamidipupo:

Thank you, my name is Olamidipupo Taiwo (Taiwo being my last name). I am a 200- level student of the Department of Political Science. I am currently running for the post of sports director for the faculty. Asides school work, I love football (watching and playing), cooking, playing chess and watching movies. I'm a fairly professional person, And I try as much as possible to get things done.

FATSSSA Press:

Interesting, what inspired Mr. Olamidipupo to run for the position of Sports Director? Is it because you love football?

Mr. Olamidipupo:

Well, I've been a sports lover from when I was small... And i believe my dad has a major influence on this aspect of my life. He is a lover of sports and has always been an enabler. Not just because I love football, but because I feel I can use my love for football to influence other areas of sports. I've always been a contributor to the sporting activities in the faculty ever since my 100 level days, and because of this I feel I can use my abilities to help propel the faculty to greater heights.

FATSSSA Press:

Okay, apart from participating in sporting activities in the faculty, have you ever organized any sporting events or involve in any sports leadership role? If yes, please state them.

Mr. Olamidipupo:

Yes, I am currently part of the sports committee for independence hall. I have also been a part of organizing some community competitions in my area back at home.

FATSSSA Press: Aside from chess and football, do you play any other sports?

Mr. Olamidipupo:

Yes, I play basketball, but I've never been the one to not focus on my strengths.... Football is what I love to do... And it is what I know how to do best.

FATSSSA Press: What is your favorite club and which footballer inspires you?

Mr. Olamidipupo:

My favourite club is Arsenal, been a supporter since birth, my dad, brother and mum are all arsenal fans so it was an easy choice.... I idolize Thierry Henry, I grew up hearing about his exploits till I was able to watch him for a few years. Cristiano Ronaldo is also someone I love, apart from his achievements in world football, his personality, character, commitment and hardworking nature is something I believe in, Talent is never enough, if you don't put in the necessary effort and have the discipline to maintain that work ethic, an hardworking person might actually become better than you with your talent

FATSSSA Press: Okay. Vying for the post of sports director, what are the specific goals or visions you plan to implement if elected?

Mr. Olamidipupo: Well, I'll look to build on what my predecessor has done. I'll also look to implement some programs which will further improve the synergy between all students of the faculty. This will include a sort of games day which will be incorporated into the faculty timetable on selected day or days. I will also look to make a fitness drive and provide a sort of fitness training and exercise day say on Saturday and it will occur every two weeks. Also a program to further put the faculty out there by organizing a sports competition with other south western universities will be worked upon... These amongst many others which will be further disclosed at the manifesto night. Thank you.

FATSSSA Press:

How do you feel about the that, as yet, you are uncontested for the position of the sports director?

Mr. Olamidipupo:

In one way, I'm a bit relieved, and in another... I'm a bit skeptical... Skeptical because does it mean the position is that rigorous and people are running away from it?.

But that won't stop me anyways, I've never been one to back down from a fight.... I'll give my all till the last whistle!

FATSSSA Press: What is the central theme of your manifesto?

Mr. Olamidipupo:

Inclusivity!... No man or woman left behind... We are all FATSSSITES and we should all be a part of pushing the boundaries of sporting excellence of FATSSSA to new heights!

FATSSSA Press: That will be all.

Thank you so much for your time, Mr. Olamidipupo.

Mr. Olamidipupo: You're most welcome ma'am. Have a great evening

FATSSSA Press: And you too.
