Kingsley Chukwuma: The 60th Faculty of The Social Sciences Students' Association President-Elect

Mr. Kingsley Chukuwuma, a 300Level student of the Department of Sociology has emerged as the 60th President of the Faculty of the Social Sciences Students Association. The just concluded FATSSSA 2021/22 Presidential election fielded two contestants, Mr. Kayode Ijimakinwa from Geography Department 300L and Mr Kingsley Chukwuma, the eventual winner

FATSSSAITES have in the past few weeks either witnessed or been involved themselves in a series of electoral activities. The press night, and the manifesto night were all buildups for the great day that would decide who the mantle of leadership would fall upon. The election which held on Friday, 22nd October 2021 started at about 8:40 am and was concluded at exactly 4:00 pm. There were over 650 total number of voters for the Executive offices, and over 400 voters for the Legislative posts.

The counting of the presidential votes ended at about 11:12 pm the same Friday in the presence of the four Presidents of the four departments under FATSSSA, at the Faculty’ Small Lecture Theatre. At the end Mr Kingsley polled a total of 350 votes while Mr Kayode polled 273.

 Mr. Kingsley, who popularly campaigned with the “leverage” agenda, is the founder of an organization known as Leaders' fort. Also, he currently serves as the general secretary of the association in the incumbent President Josiah-led administration. According to his manifesto, he hopes to leverage the works of previous administrations for visible impact for FATSSSAites.

Mr. Kingsley, the President-elect, made many more promises in his manifestoes, ranging from increasing accessibility, accountability to FATSSSAites, to leadership summits, and social activities.
