 The UI SU Beauty Pageantry show

    In 2017, the authorities of the University of Ibadan  accused the Ojo Aderemi led Union of disrupting academic activities by carrying out a massive protest against the non-issuance of id cards, condemning the unruly behaviour. The students union was then suspended on may 30,2017 till further notice. On August 30, 2019, the student Union was then reinstated and Akeju Olusegun emerged as the president. 

The student Union has since been on a smooth ride as various activities are being envisioned. one of these is the beauty pageantry show the highly anticipated ''Mr and Miss UI". It is here again and is meant to take place on the 25th of September, 2021. Before the ban in 2017, the last beauty contest took place in 2016 at the international conference center and Oluwole  Enitan( 300 level, department of microbiology, faculty of science, at then) and Oyinlola Alice ( a 100 level student of the department of history, faculty of arts) emerged as the king and queen respectively. 

The selection of the most talented, handsome and beautiful male and female is here again. At the event there would be presentation of awards to students who have been outstanding over the year within the university community. It's going to be lit, fun, educative, etc. Who would emerge as winner amongst the 19 contestants??

  By Emmanuel Akinwale The Faculty of the Social Sciences has today, 8th October released a memorandum announcing the suspension of all academic and administrative activities within the f aculty , following the untimely passing of Professor Ifeanyi Onyeonoru , a respected lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Head of the Employment Relations and Human Resource Management Unit.   The devastating news confirmed by FATSSSA Press correspondent stated that Professor Ifeanyi Onyeonoru passed away in the early hours of October 7, 2024, at Jaja Clinic during a brief illnes. The esteemable Professor is said to have contributed significantly to the academic repository of the Faculty and most importantly, his Department with his repertoire of knowledge. THE FATSSSA WEEK EVENTS THROUGH THE EYES OF A NERDY FATSSSAITE

However, there had been loud hiccups with the crispy picnic, so many might have been hesitant to show up at the FATSSSA Week events. In preparation for the opening day of the events, the Large Lecture Theatre had been decorated. A large purple banner bearing the name of the faculty, with beautiful splashes of white and orange, was glued to the wall. The week started with an incredible intellectual programme - ‘Dean For  A Day’ and ‘FATSSSAites who inspire us’. I was determined to attend the programme as it was a new trend and I was curious to see how it would turn out. My mouth went agape as I saw FATSSSAites rush to the event.
