FATSSSA PRESIDENT SUSPENDED!
SPORTS DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL SECRETARY AND TREASURER ALSO SUSPENDED!
HONOURABLES TO NOMINATE ACTING SPORTS DIRECTOR FOR DEANS CUP
The president of the Faculty of the Social Sciences Students Association, Mr. Faith Ayomide Omitoyin was on Friday 5th October suspended by the Faculty House of Representatives.
The president together with the treasurer, financial secretary and sports secretary were suspended indefinitely by the house until they are able to refund the sum of one hundred and forty two thousand three hundred and seventy naira (₦142,370) which they allegedly spent without the approval of the House.
The president alongside the treasurer, financial secretary and the sports director had in a meeting signed an undertaking stating that they would refund the money to FATSSSA purse on or before 30th September and that in their inability to do so they can be suspended.

UNIIVERSITY OCOMPETITION BEATS UNIVERSITY OF GHANA IN DEBATE COMPETITION
A debate between both institutions took place on October 5, 2018. This was done together with the bilateral games, which usually take place every year between both institutions. The venue was slated for Faculty of Arts SLT by 5pm but later had to be changed to the LLT because of technical issues. The debate started by 7:15pm. Miss Betty from Theatre Arts, UI was the Chief Judge and a lecturer from Department of English, UI together with the coach from Ghana were the other judges. The topic of the debate was 'Has ECOWAS outlived its relevance in sub-Saharan African Region?”
University of Ibadan emerged as the winner with 71.8 points while University of Ghana followed closely on UI’s tail with 71.3 points.
