UI RESEARCH FOUNDATION ORGANISES MEDICAL TESTS FOR ADOLESCENTS IN THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN
by Emmanuel Akinwale
The UI Research foundation arranged medical examinations for adolescent students of the University of Ibadan from December 11th to December 13th. As of the time this report was compiled, the medical test took place in the Faculty of the Social Sciences pako lounge.
The medical examination, as stated by one of the health officials, is intended to determine the haemoglobin level in adolescents. After completion, the haemoglobinometer displays the haemoglobin content and the PCB (Polychlorinated biphenyls) concentration. A low haemoglobin level may indicate several medical issues, including anaemia. The normal haemoglobin level ranges from 8 to 18.
Students who participated in the Medical test had signed a consent form a week before to be eligible for the test.
It is anticipated that the medical test organised by UI Research foundation will act as a safeguard against negative health conditions in adolescents in the future.
The University of Ibadan Research Foundation (UIR-Foundation) was established to promote cutting-edge research, develop staff talents, and uphold a strong academic environment essential for fulfilling the University of Ibadan's mission as the foremost provider of top-quality education, research, training, and services in the area.
