*"I NEITHER ABSCONDED NOR STOLE FATSSSAITE'S MONEY" - Jones Ogelekeme, Fatsssa President.*

About two weeks ago (28/05/17) we reported that the President had gone missing along with a very large sum of money from the Fatsssa account. All this while attempts to establish contact with him had proved abortive. And rumours of varying degree went round about the circumstances surrounding his sudden disappearance.
An Honourable member of the Faculty House of Representatives in person of Hon. Aquah Christian had been quoted saying that the President was being hunted by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for issues relating to activities of a group unrecognised by the university.
Today however, we have received a correspondence from the President and in it he claimed to not have stolen any money, promising to give a breakdown of the Fatsssa Treasury once he regains his health.
In his words, _"Hello E in C, i have been hearing all what happened on campus due to my unintentional absence. i nver absconded. i dont pray for anyone to pass through what i passed through btwn tue,may 16th and thur, june 18. i was supposed to be in dean's office ystday. but i cud nt bcos of health issue. pls relate the msg to fatsssaites that i didnt steal their money. a detailed breakdown of fatsssa treasury will be given once i regain myself. jones ogelekeme"_
This brings a whole new dimension to the issue at hand and whatever form it assumes in the coming hours or days, we'll let you know as this story develops.
_It should be noted that a total of One million, two hundred and ninety eight thousand, five hundred naira (#1,298,500) had been found to have been withdrawn by the President as at May 3rd, 2017._
