  By Adedoja Aisha In the 5th legislative sitting of the Faculty of The Social Sciences Students Association House of Representatives (FATSSSA FHR) held on November 16, 2023, the Social Director of FATSSSA, Mr. Ashcroft Dominion Omoniyi, presented the financial report concerning the recent picnic, specifically addressing the utilization of funds and an outstanding loan. Upon a thorough review of the budget, the House discovered that Mr. Ashcroft was unable to fulfill the repayment of a loan amounting to two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000) from the FATSSSA account. The FHR directed Mr. Ashcroft to reimburse the mentioned sum back into the FATSSSA account before the 2nd FHR sitting in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic session. Four Executive Council Members of FATSSSA Suspended for Failure to Inaugurate Committees

By Ibukunoluwa Keyamo In a decisive move, the Faculty of the Social Sciences Students’ Association (FATSSSA) has suspended the Sports Director, Treasurer, The Social Director, and Assistant General Secretary from their duties effective today, November 17th, 2023. The decision was reached during a session of the FATSSSA House of Representatives, where three members of the executive council faced suspension for two weeks as part of the repercussions for their failure to inaugurate the committees for their respective offices. Additionally, another member was suspended for absenteeism during the sitting. According to the FATSSSA Constitution, Article 10, Section (i), subsection (II), all Standing committees, except the Audit and Publications committees, as well as the IFEC, must be inaugurated within 30 days of a new session. This gathering was organized to be a memorable occasion, and attendees were required to purchase tickets at the rate of ₦1000 as their entry pass. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of The Fatsssa President, Dasaolu Olumide, the Vice-President, the Social Director, and several other esteemed faculty executives. The event was scheduled to commence at 4:30 PM, although there was a slight delay due to inclement weather. Nevertheless, the event was masterfully led by Headie, the MC, and DJ Sketch, who enthralled the audience with a captivating musical backdrop. The workshop featured two distinguished speakers: Michael Akinkunmi, a Mastercard Foundation scholar at the University of Cambridge, who earned his B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Ibadan (UI), and Muhammed Alakitan, a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Cambridge, with a background in Sociology from UI. Originally scheduled in the Lecture Theatre (LLT), the event took an unexpected turn as it was relocated to FATSSSA's Room 036. The decision to change venues was explained by the Vice President of FATSSSA, who noted that the LLT had been continuously occupied for the past three weeks, causing disruptions to the SOC 208 lecture. Anticipating a lower turnout, the decision to relocate was made to prevent further disruption to ongoing classes.  By Doja         According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is “a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.” Stress is one factor which can be a threat to one’s health.  The WHO defines stress as “ a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.” Stress can affect health, I. e., physical, mental, and social wellbeing, if not properly managed. Stress can either be good stress, referred to as eustress, or bad stress, which is called distress. Getting quality sleep, having a schedule for tasks, meditating, relating with people, and exercising regularly can manage stress.  The word “stress” in popular usage makes it seem like a passing feeling or just pressure.
