In preparation for the upcoming FATSSSA elections, the FATSSSA Press had a brief interview with Triumph, a 300-level student of Sociology, who is vying for the position of General Secretary. In this interview, he shares insights into his leadership experiences, motivations for contesting, and how he plans to navigate potential challenges if elected.

FATSSSA PRESS: Good morning, can we know you, your name, level and department?

TRIUMPH: Good morning ma'am. Thank you very much for this. I'm Triumph, 300 level, from Sociology.

FATSSSA PRESS: Do you currently hold any post in any organisation. If yes, what is the post and the organisation?

TRIUMPH: Yes I do. In AUCSF, currently the Organising Secretary and also my fellowships currently the Music Director, Christ Life Campus Fellowship.

FATSSSA PRESS: How would you rate your success in them?

TRIUMPH: A solid 8.5/10 in both. The remaining are for my humane imperfections.

FATSSSA PRESS: You're currently aspiring for the position of the General Secretary of FATSSSA, first of all, why General Secretary? Why not any other position?

TRIUMPH: Yeah. First I'm willing to serve and I believe in service with an Excellent delivery, and I've also served in the FHR as the deputy clerk where the task of the clerk is sometimes done by me and the office is so much related to the office of the general secretary, which is why I intend to serve in FATSSSA Executive office not just in any position but in a position I've served in before and I have vast knowledge and experience.

FATSSSA PRESS: What makes you stand out from your opponents?

TRIUMPH: Hmm thank you very much ...this is a good yet challenging question. But what I would say being one of the candidates running for this position one of the major skills I know I posses is proactiveness and also combining my experience in solving current issues and solutions and I think really fast through tough parts. For example when I first assumed my role as organizing secretary of AUCSF, it was an entirely new sphere for me and grateful to God I thought about the way out really fast even though I lacked solutions at the time as regards making the chapel auditorium convenient for over 1,800 people I still used my proactive skill and experiencing managing human capital to get everything needed for the smooth running of every service. These skills set me apart: Critical and fast thinking; Fast problem solving skill; Proactiveness; Good human resource skills.

FATSSSA PRESS: Are there any anticipated challenges that you think you might experience in your administration, if elected? If yes, what are they and how do you plan to tackle them?

TRIUMPH: Except for the Faculty Management Communication I'm fore seeing which can be a little bit challenging because my relationship would just start getting deepened with them in presenting the Faculty needs to them alongside the President, but I believe through constant and genuine communication I would get myself acquired to the Faculty Management.

FATSSSA PRESS: If the organisations you belong to decide to re-appoint you, do you think you'll be able to function effectively as the General Secretary of our faculty?

TRIUMPH: I would take the position and it wouldn't affect me ..as they do not hold service during school hours and there is an understanding that I'm going to a political position already so in case they would understand.

FATSSSA PRESS: Thank you for your time, is there anything you'll like to add?

TRIUMPH: From your assessment today ma'am. What do you think I can do better in all?

FATSSSA PRESS: The truth is, I don’t think it’s my place to give you any form of appraisal. However, I believe that what truly matters is the execution of these plans, if elected. If there’s nothing more to add, that will be all. Thank you.

TRIUMPH: Alright ma'am. Thank you so much.
