By Eniola Fase
Interviewer: Good evening, I'm Eniola, a pressman
from the FATSSSA press organization. Can you introduce yourself, please?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: Hello Eniola, good evening. I'm
Boluwatife Animashaun, a 100 level student of Sociology.
Interviewer: First, we would like to know the
reason behind your interest in the post of the Assistant General Secretary
(AGS).
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: Okay. So basically, my reason for
going for the post of the faculty AGS is born from sheer will to serve. Serve
the faculty, its people, and the association.
Interviewer: Can you describe your experience in
managing and coordinating administrative tasks at a senior level? How would you
apply those skills to support the General Secretary in their role?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: Over the years, I've been involved
in a number of leadership roles both at senior and junior levels, and
currently, I serve as the Technical Coordinator 2 of my fellowship. Through
these experiences, I have learned the core principles of teamwork, time
management, and building strong relationships with colleagues. I would be
delighted to apply these skills to support the General Secretary in elevating
the faculty association to new heights of success.
Interviewer: As the Assistant General Secretary,
you may be responsible for developing and implementing organizational policies
and procedures. How would you approach this task, ensuring alignment with the
organization's mission and values while promoting efficiency and compliance?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: In ensuring this as the AGS, I'll
work closely with other central executives of the administration such as the
president, vice president, and general secretary. Additionally, I will abide by
the rules outlined in the constitution to ensure that the policies and
procedures developed align with the organization's mission and values, while
also promoting efficiency and compliance.
Interviewer: The role of Assistant General
Secretary may involve working closely with the General Secretary to support
decision-making processes. Can you share an experience where you provided
valuable input or advice that influenced a significant decision within an
organization?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: As the Assistant Technical
Coordinator in my fellowship, I currently serve in a similar capacity. While
primarily handling the technical aspects of the department to ensure flawless
production during services, I recently took on additional administrative
responsibilities within the department. By collaborating with the team,
offering valuable input, and providing advice, we were able to make significant
decisions that positively impacted our organization.
Interviewer: How do you feel about having an
opponent in this election? Do you feel threatened or scared? What are your
emotions?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: No, I do not feel threatened or
scared. I stand strong in good faith. Having opponents is a sign of a thriving
society, and I believe in healthy competition. If there are any rumors
suggesting otherwise, I kindly request that they be disregarded.
Interviewer: Okay, Mr. Bola. Do you think you
have a better chance against your opponent? If so, why?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: Yes, I believe I have a better
chance. Firstly, I have actively served the faculty by participating in
initiatives such as the Operation Keep FATSSSA CLEAN sanitation exercise, and I
am also a member of the faculty's Learning and Development society.
Furthermore, I have served in various capacities over the years, which has
allowed me to develop competence and expertise. Additionally, as a creative
writer, I bring genuine creativity, skill, and drive to the table. Lastly, I
prioritize the inclusion of all students of FATSSSA and maintain good
relationships with fellow FATSSSAites across departments and levels. With the
people's support, I dare to say that I stand a better chance against my
opponent.
Interviewer: Do you think your opponent lacks
these skills and experiences you've mentioned?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: I don't know. I'm only speaking for
myself.
Interviewer: You mentioned that "with the
people's support..." Do you think compared to your opponent, you have the
people's support?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: This is politics. Everybody will
definitely have their supporters. Again, I'm speaking from my side and for
myself. So yes.
Interviewer: I believe that's a yes. Would you
like to mention a few outstanding plans you have for FATSSSITES if elected?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: Can we push this till the Manifesto
night? Or okay, let me mention one. I have plans of making a collaboration with
certain leading social impact organizations in the country. Further details
will be relayed at the manifesto night.
Interviewer: Lastly, the Assistant General
Secretary must demonstrate strong ethical standards and integrity. Can you
share an experience where you faced an ethical dilemma and how you navigated
through it while maintaining your professional principles?
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: One time I faced an ethical dilemma
as a leader was during my tenure as the president of the teens arm of my
church. It was a challenging period of getting many of them to take up a
certain responsibility. However, upon consultation with past leaders, proper
communication, and team spirit, we were able to achieve the best. The
Interviewer: Thank you so much for your time, Mr.
Bola Animashaun. Enjoy the rest of your evening and good luck with your
desires.
Mr. Bolu Animashaun: Thank you.
