the process”.

Election
Day is fast approaching and with the number of candidates contesting for
different positions, we understand that it may be a little hard to keep track
of all of them. In order to help FATSSSAITES make an informed decision when the
time comes, we have interviewed all the candidates to get to know them a little
better.
Here
is Miss. Oluwafisayo, vying for the position of General Secretary; in an
interview with FATSSSA Press Correspondent, Miss. Ibukun.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
Thank you for agreeing to meet with me! Could you please introduce yourself?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: My
name is Adedokun Oluwafisayo. I am a 200-level student of the Department of
Sociology.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
What are your goals, beliefs in life, source of motivation — basically, how
would you describe yourself?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: I
am a delivery-driven person. I am passionate about quite a number of things
that all gear towards self-development. I have a penchant for learning and
constantly getting better. I also love to relax and have fun when necessary.
What motivates me is the kind of future I want for myself, where I stay
valuable, both to myself, and to who or where I find myself.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
That’s interesting. Why exactly are you interested in running for this office?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: Since
my admission into the University of Ibadan, I have intentionally put myself out
there; serving in my capacity and learning on the go. As at now, I have gleaned
enough knowledge to help me function actively as the General Secretary of this
great Association. I, however, do not undermine the experience I will get while
working on the job, I just think that I know the basics
and enough to deliver the mandate for the office, and I am willing and ready to
learn in the process.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
Have you held any other positions, not necessarily in the Association, but in
the faculty at large?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: I
was a member of the Legislative House of the Nigerian Sociological and
Anthropological Students Association (NSASA), I served as the erstwhile Deputy
Speaker of the same House. I am currently the Treasurer of the Faculty’s
Literary and Debating Society.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
As you are the current Treasurer of the Literary and Debating society, why are
you not contesting for the same post in FATSSSA?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: I
didn’t vie to hold that position. It was by appointment and I am running for
the post of General Secretary because I believe I will deliver better in that
capacity.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
What is one unique thing you will contribute to the office if you emerge the
winner? Do you think you are bringing anything new to the table?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: While
I may not be able to explicitly say all of that now, my plans for our dear
association will roll out even as the electioneering process reaches a climax.
Yes, I am bringing something new to the table. In fact, I am committed to
ensuring ideas that can stand the test of time and outlive the duration of my
service. This is the whole idea behind my FOOTPRINT Agenda and the uniqueness
to it is that it will be fun, engaging, and equipping for FATSSSITES, myself
included.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
What is the central theme of your manifesto?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: Results
and initiatives that stand the test of time.
FATSSSA
PRESS:
Lastly, how do you feel about the fact that, as yet, you are uncontested for
this position?
Miss.
Oluwafisayo: Whether
I am uncontested or not, the goal remains the same. So, being uncontested does
not exactly give a particular feeling. Instead, I know I still have to ensure
members of FATSSSA buy into my ideas and that they trust me enough to be able
to deliver them.
FATSSSA PRESS: Okay, thank you very much for your time!
