Interview with an assistant general secretary aspirant,
Mr Olumide Omotayo

“I’ll never give plans that are not feasible”.

BY: MR LANLEHIN HABEEB

FATSSSA PRESS: Can we meet you?
Mr. Olumide: My name is Omotayo Olumide Sunday I am a 100-level student of the political science department, University of Ibadan
FATSSSA PRESS: Why do you want to run for the post of AGS for the faculty, what’s your main motivation?
Mr. Olumide: I have a lot of reasons for contesting the post. It has been one of my goals to contest for political positions available in the school and also to go into mainstream politics after my education. And another reason for my contesting is to continue the good works being done by the current “AGS” of the faculty and I believe I can do better than him
FATSSSA PRESS: Which administrative skills do you possess?
Mr. Olumide: I have leadership experiences and I’ve been involved in various administrative positions before now. I’m the youth president at my church and the class representative for my level. I struggle to put things in place for the betterment of all.
FATSSSA PRESS: Have you ever held a political position?
Mr. Olumide: No, but I’ve held other positions in other organisations. When I was working at “ AFOS”  (an organisation that produces detergent) I was the assistant general secretary before I left and I’m also the class representative for my level
FATSSSA PRESS: How would you describe the state of the association
Mr. Olumide: The state of the association is actually okay. I’ll rate them 7/10
FATSSSA PRESS: What are your agendas for the association?
Mr. Olumide: I have got a lot of agendas but I won’t be disclosing them right now and they are in my manifesto. Pressmen are also politicians and I don't want my opponents to steal my ideas and put them on their manifesto
FATSSSA PRESS: There have been different candidates whose manifestos don’t come out as planned, how will you prevent this?
Mr. Olumide: I’ll never give plans that are not feasible. I’ll only promise things I can do, I’m unlike regular politicians. I’ll try my best to fulfil all my promises
FATSSSA PRESS: Is there any situation that can make you step down from the race?
Mr. Olumide: No
FATSSSA PRESS: What’s your conception about the manager-student relationship in the faculty?
Mr. Olumide: People like the sub dean actually, he keeps the nice relationship and supports the students while some don’t.
FATSSSA PRESS: What do you think of your opponent?
Mr. Olumide: I can't say much about them other than to commend them on their efforts on their various agendas, but only God knows what will happen and who will be elected as the new “AGS”
FATSSSA PRESS: What exactly is your brand selling?
Mr. Olumide: I train people on digital skills and possess good leadership skills
FATSSSA PRESS: On a scale of 1-10 how sure are you that you will win the election?
Mr. Olumide: I can’t tell for now
FATSSSA PRESS: Any last words for FATSSSAite?
Mr. Olumide: Everyone should keep pushing and not give up. God can do wonders so no one should lose hope whatever the situation they are in instead they should work harder and believe in themselves
