FACULTY MANAGEMENT RENOVATES FATSSSAITES RESTROOMS, PLANS MORE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
By Yakubu Mathilda
The management of the Faculty of Social Sciences has recently embarked on the renovation of the FATSSSAITES restrooms, addressing long-standing concerns raised by students over the condition of the facilities.
For some time, students had complained about the poor state of the restrooms, particularly the persistent unpleasant odour caused by an inadequate water supply for flushing. The issue had become a recurring concern, with many students calling on the faculty management to improve the sanitary conditions.
According to the Faculty's Public Relations Officer (PRO), the renovation was carried out in response to these concerns. The project involved repairing faulty facilities and restoring a reliable water supply to ensure a cleaner and more hygienic environment for students.
Speaking on the development, the Dean of the Faculty reaffirmed that students' welfare remains a top priority. He urged students to make proper use of the renovated facilities and warned against acts of vandalism or negligence that could damage the restrooms.
In addition to the FATSSSAITES restrooms, the renovation also covered the male and female toilets located at the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT), further improving sanitation facilities within the faculty.
The Dean further disclosed that the management is looking beyond the completed renovation, with plans to embark on additional infrastructural projects aimed at enhancing the faculty environment. These include the installation of solar-powered lights across the faculty, the development of a new borehole water system, and other welfare-focused initiatives designed to improve students' learning experience.
The management expressed optimism that the upgraded facilities would enhance students' comfort and well-being. It also encouraged all students to take collective responsibility for maintaining the restrooms to ensure they remain in good condition for continued use.
