IT'S FATSSSA ELECTIONS O'CLOCK!!! MEET MR TOLUWALEKE OWONIFAARI ASPIRANT FOR THE OFFICE OF VICE-PRESIDENT

By James Simisola

Here is Mr Toluwaleke,  an aspirant vying for the position of Vice President; in an interview with a FATSSSA Press Correspondent.

 FATSSSA PRESS: Good evening sir

Mr Toluwaleke: Good evening dear sir.

FATSSSA PRESS: My name's James Simisola, a correspondent of FATSSSA PRESS. I would like to meet you. Can you please introduce yourself?.

Mr Toluwaleke: I’m Toluwaleke Owonifaari. A 200 level student of Sociology.

FATSSSA PRESS: Can you also kindly describe yourself as a person, basic beliefs, your personal philosophy and source of motivation

Mr Toluwaleke: I am a passionate individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people around me. I believe in the importance of community and teamwork even as I am dedicated to promoting inclusivity within the faculty. I have the ability to work collaboratively with others, and I’m committed to serving the needs of people around me.

FATSSSA PRESS: I understand you're vying for the post of the Vice President at the Faculty, correct?

Mr Toluwaleke: Very well, sir

FATSSSA PRESS: So, what made you decide on contesting for that post?

Mr Toluwaleke: I have strong interest in improving the welfare and academic experiences of FATSSSAites.

I believe that becoming the Vice President is the best way to achieve this goal.

 FATSSSA PRESS: Alright

Have you held any executive position within the faculty or otherwise?

Mr Toluwaleke: No, I haven’t

 FATSSSA PRESS: Okay

So, what other experiences and skills are you then bringing to the table as an aspirant?

Mr Toluwaleke: I am a teacher, a scholar, an academic writer and actor. I have developed skills in communication, delegation, organization, and decision-making that can be valuable in a student leadership role.

I have worked with diverse groups of people, communicating effectively, and building relationships that could be a major asset in my role as a leader.

FATSSSA PRESS: Do you believe all these qualifications are enough  in vying for the office of the Vice President of the Faculty?

Mr Toluwaleke: With these experiences, I can organize networking events and guidance for opportunities with leading firms and organizations to help members of our association explore various career options in the field of the social sciences. What is the role of an association if it can’t enhance career opportunities for its members?

With my experiences as a creative, I will bring fresh perspectives and new ideas to the table. I believe I will be able to identify issues or opportunities that are unique.

 FATSSSA PRESS: Alright

What is the central theme in your manifesto?. What is that unique thing that will make you stand out as a candidate?

Mr Toluwaleke: Vision, yes, that’s it. Vision to create a more positive change in my constitutional duties. I believe my experiences will make me stand out. As a fresh man in the university of Ibadan, I headed the committee that set over 3000 researched questions for the biggest quiz competition  that covered all of the 33 local government areas in Oyo State. By God’s grace, Come May 27, 2023, at Trenchard Hall, university of Ibadan, I will serve as quiz master for the Roseline Etuokwu Sigma *South West* Secondary School Quiz Competition. This is just to mention a few.

My innovative ideas for how to handle key issues sets me apart from other candidates. I can offer creative solutions to solve problems. I can identify many opportunities that others might have overlooked.

FATSSSA PRESS: Hmm... alright.

Seminars and career talks are not new to the members of the Faculty, however, you intend in your own words, 'to create a more positive change'. If elected what positive change should  FATSSSAites expect from you especially in their promoting their academic excellence?

Mr Toluwaleke: I know they are not new. That’s why I said a ‘more’ positive change. Things can be done better than it was. There’s always room for improvement.

I will not let FATSSSAITES feel that they don’t have enough information concerning their school work.

I, with other executives will say NO to academic victimization.

I can offer creative solutions to solve problems.

Stay in touch with press and manifesto nights for apposite details.

FATSSSA PRESS: Alright, that will be all for this interview.

Thanks for your time Mr Toluwaleke. I really do appreciate your attention.

Mr Toluwaleke: Don’t mention it 😁
