By Kayode Oyeniran Organisers of the Global Leadership Summit, University of Ibadan are set to partner with the Faculty of the Social Sciences Students’ Association (FATSSSA) to host a one day free Google digital skills training. The training which is aimed at helping students grow their businesses, careers and to acquire more employability skills is billed to take place on the 28th of September at the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT) of the Faculty of the Social Sciences. Influencers of the GLSUI’19 team have confirmed that experts from Google are expected to train students on several Information Technology (IT) skills like digital marketing, search engine optimisation, content marketing and so on. UNION OF CAMPUS JOURNALISTS, UI SET TO HOLD 2019 CONVENTION By Muritala Seun The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan under the leadership of Martins Isaac as President is about to commence a week long convention starting from August 31st, 2019 with the theme: “Digital Media, Networking and ICT: Prospects and Challenges for Individual and National Development.” The convention which has various programs for each of the days will have in attendance personalities from different spheres of life such as; the media, academics, politics and so on. Her happy demeanor and girlish act made me teased her often, in ways that she liked but shy away from; she pouted her mouth to show the facade of annoyance. After my first year in university,  the session had ended and my fellowship had closed for the session but the hostels were still open so I stayed back because some folks were still around and might want to change their hairdo. (I specialize in bringing out the beauty in women). I cannot rush home and miss money that is my own. As a good child that I am,  on Sunday morning,  I dressed up and strolled to a nearby church.  They welcomed me well. I was even lent a scarf for the duration of the service.  Little did they know that I was there only for Sunday Sunday medicine. That being noted, this week, we are reviewing some of the news that made the rounds both on campus and off campus, the reactions that trailed the news, all about facts and trends. On campus, we welcomed the preceding week with the knowledge of the five day warning strike by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU). For some, it was a no-class week as most of their classes were cancelled while for others, it was not just about classes, it was all about tests and assignments. For the latter, it was an unpleasant affair as the no-light syndrome inhibited many academic activities that required power.
