Short story: An Excerpt From "Led You On"
By Omolola Gracie Flies perched around her slim frame that was curled in a fetal position. She had sat in her vomit for a few hours. Dried tears stained her beautiful oval face. Hiccuping , she rubbed her chest. Suddenly she howled, her voice broken. She clutched the toilet seat, sobbing fresh tears. Hands on her chest, she clutched the blue heart shaped pendant that he had gotten her for her twentyieth birthday. Clawing at it, she ripped it off and flung it into the bathtub. Hysterically, she pranced after it on her fours. She grabbed and kissed it, ignoring the salty taste. She remembered how he held and kissed her, calling her, ' Ayanfe '. He was the only one who called her Ayanfe , the name rolling off his tongue like he was eating some vanilla ice cream.
