NEWS: FATSSSA SET TO PARTNER WITH CAMPUS STATION IN ORGANISING A DIGITAL LITERACY BOOTCAMP

By Emmanuel Akinwale

The Campus Station, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences Students' Association (FATSSSA), is set to organize a Digital Literacy Boot Camp aimed at educating and empowering students with crucial digital literacy skills. The training program will cover a range of topics, including Google Workspace, student resources, data analysis, academic writing, and artificial intelligence (AI).

The primary objective of the initiative is to equip students in the Faculty of Social Sciences with the necessary digital literacy and research writing skills. It is anticipated that these skills will significantly ease the process of project writing and term paper assignments by the time students reach their final or penultimate years. Registration for the boot camp began on June 24, 2024, and will close on July 7, 2024.

The training sessions will be conducted in the evenings via a closed WhatsApp group and Google Meet, to ensure accessibility and convenience for all participants. Classes are scheduled to commence on July 8, 2024, and will run until July 17, 2024. The boot camp is free and open to all interested students.

In addition to the training, FATSSSA is partnering with other faculties and departments on campus to broaden the program's impact. It is expected that students from the FATSSSA community who participate in the boot camp will receive certificates upon completion, further validating their newly acquired skills.
