Festive Vibes and Freebies: Faculty of Social Sciences Movie Night Thrills Students
by Alice Ogar
The Faculty of Social Sciences Week united students for a
memorable Movie Night on Wednesday, 18th December, as the Large Lecture Theatre
resonated with laughter, cheers, and holiday spirit. The evening included the
showing of “Red One,” a holiday-themed action-comedy that offered the perfect
blend of excitement, comedy, and festive charm.
In “Red One”, an audacious operation to rescue Christmas
progresses with numerous surprises and humour, making it a good option for an
evening dedicated to helping students relax. The film kept the audience engaged with exciting action sequences and humour. Occasionally, the LLT
burst into laughter or applauded, and the festive atmosphere among students was
evident.
Interestingly, the excitement began even before the film
started. The initial 100 students who showed up received complimentary popcorn
and beverages, creating a traditional movie pairing that established the
atmosphere for the night. The thrill didn’t end there. The
excitement was made even merrier with airtime giveaways, injecting a lively and enjoyable vibe into
the evening.
The occasion was beyond merely a film presentation. It was centred around bonding, collective joy, and an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season together. The Large Lecture Theatre, typically linked to serious lectures, turned into a hub of happiness and friendship
