The 62nd executive members were formally inaugurated on Thursday, 2nd of May, 2024 following their victory at the polls on Thursday, 21st of March, 2024. The event, which took place in the Dean’s office, started at 01:00 pm with the dean, Sub-dean, faculty officer, and faculty registrar in attendance.

The incoming executives, some outgoing executives, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and a host (the assistant general secretary of the Political Science department), were all gathered to usher FATSSSA into a new dawn.

The inaugural event was opened with the national anthem after which the Dean, Professor Nwokocha, made his speech. The Dean began his speech by reaffirming the position of the faculty of the social sciences as one of the best faculties in the University of Ibadan. He then proceeded to admonish the incoming executives.

Professor Nwokocha reminded the new executives of the weight of the responsibility placed on them, advising them to make the most of it as the leaders of tomorrow. The Dean advised the incoming executives to represent the faculty positively, upholding the standards that the Faculty of The Social Sciences is widely known for.

He asked them to behave responsibly at all times and in all situations, reminding them that several people look up to them. Professor Nwokocha praised the efforts of the outgoing administration, despite the challenges they have faced, and asked the incoming administration to build on their existing achievements.
