MR. DASAOLU DANIEL OLUMIDE FATSSSA PRESIDENT'S VISION: A CANDID INTERVIEW.

By Oluwadarasimi Otunla

FATSSSA PRESS: Good morning, Mr. President. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to have this interview with me. My name is Oluwadarasimi, a pressman from FATSSSA PRESS. Could you please introduce yourself?

Mr. Dasaolu: Good morning, Miss Darasimi. Dasaolu Daniel Olumide is my name; I'm a 400-level student in the Department of Psychology.

FATSSSA PRESS: Alright, thank you very much. So, I have a few questions for you today. Can we proceed?

Mr. Dasaolu: Yes, sure.

FATSSSA PRESS: Wonderful. Mr. President, you were elected not only for your leadership skills but also for your intriguing plans for the session. Could you please give an overview of what the C.A.S.E. agenda means and what each letter stands for?

Mr. Dasaolu: The C.A.S.E. agenda is basically an acronym for the plans I want to execute in FATSSSA. C stands for Capacity building, A for Academics, S for Social, and E for Entrepreneurship. All these plans merged are the driving force behind promoting the culture of excellence FATSSSA is known for.

FATSSSA PRESS: Alright. Under your academic plans for the session, you mentioned organizing an interdepartmental quiz competition and introducing data analysis and project writing training. How has your progress been on these plans?

Mr. Dasaolu: By God's grace, the interdepartmental quiz will be held during FATSSSA week. The training will commence this semester, "all things being equal." We have started planning since day one.

FATSSSA PRESS: Are there any more details on these you would like to share?

Mr. Dasaolu: Well, for now, no.

FATSSSA PRESS: Alright then. Moving on to the socials, to increase students' interactions, you plan on working on faculty excursions. Could you elaborate on some destinations you have in mind and what experiences students can look forward to? Additionally, due to the supposed increase in school fees, how do you plan on encouraging students to join the excursions? Even with a subsidized price, will students be able to gain the necessary experience?

Mr. Dasaolu: Alright, a committee has been set up for this, and they are working behind the scenes. Their report will be ready this Friday. However, FATSSSAites should prepare for a fun-filled excursion with plenty of learning opportunities. It's an experience you shouldn't miss, trust me. The destination can't be unveiled until it gets approved. The moment it gets approved, we will start publicity massively. The excursion will be so affordable that it won't compromise the experience they will gain.

FATSSSA PRESS: Alright. The freshers have resumed and must be looking forward to their welcome and other activities the executives have in store. As you plan on improving these events, what are some new and improved things they should expect?

Mr. Dasaolu: Owing to the structure of the school calendar, i.e., the fact that the calendar is short and that there are lined-up activities that the faculty, as well as departments, will have, we are proposing a one-day event for the Freshers' welcome. More details will be shared after it gets approved by the FHR, but trust me, their 100 level will be filled with positive experiences. They should also look out for optimum relaxation; FATSSSA is home. The Pako Lounge is equipped with a TV screen for entertainment, the cafeteria now offers a variety of options, and we have superb Satellites and finalists ready to welcome them.

FATSSSA PRESS: Sounds very promising, I must say, sir. Moving on to capacity building, you stated that you aim to provide training for students to acquire soft skills. How do time management and teamwork play major roles in this? Can you share more about the timing and structure since this is to take place this semester?

Mr. Dasaolu: Firstly, we have contacted the organization we want to partner with; discussions are still ongoing. We are looking at a suitable time to gather the most FATSSSAites. The training will be certified, and regarding timing, the first semester is the proposed period. We hope it stands unless the management says otherwise, but it will hold.
Are there any details about the training itself you would like to share? If not, we can move on to the next question. Regarding your plans to equip students with entrepreneurial skills, have any collaborations been made, or have organizations been reached out to to make this a success?

Mr. Dasaolu: Well, not much information yet, except that it will be certified. We are partnering with selected FATSSSAites, and the plan is still in its foundational stage; not much to share at this point.

FATSSSA PRESS: Alright then. How do you plan to manage resources and time to ensure the success of all your initiatives? And, from all your plans mentioned, has any been set into motion?

Mr. Dasaolu: I plan to follow the principles I learned from my predecessors. For every activity that we want to allocate resources to, we will ask ourselves:
1. Is it beneficial?
2. Is it economical?
3. Is it sustainable?
So, if the event can answer these three questions, it will help us manage resources effectively. Most of our plans have been set into motion; however, we are taking it step by step.

FATSSSA PRESS: Lastly, as this is a new session and a fresh administration, how do you envision the session going, both academically and socially?

Mr. Dasaolu: I will remain positive. It's going fine; however, FATSSSAites should prioritize well. The session is SHORT.

FATSSSA PRESS: Is there anything else you would like to add, maybe a warm welcome to the FATSSSA freshers and the other FATSSSAites to the new session?

Mr. Dasaolu: To all FATSSSAites, I welcome you all; embrace the spirit of PARAGONS, be models of excellence in all your endeavors this session, and I pray God helps us all. GOD BLESS FATSSSA UI.

FATSSSA PRESS: Thank you so much for this interview once again, Mr. President. It has been a pleasure speaking to you; have a wonderful day.

Mr. Dasaolu: You are welcome.
